LinkedIn to Launch Dating Network for Gold Diggers

PALO ALTO - - Looking to capitalize on the recent success of apps like Tinder and Hinge, LinkedIn announced Monday that it would launch a dating app for gold diggers. Users can filter results by company/degrees/title and more.  You can also search for keywords like ‘investment banking’, ‘partner’, or ‘surgeon’. An income calculator is provided to help guide newcomers.  Further, if you’re interested in the income level, but are hoping to be mostly left alone, you can add sub-filters like ‘travels a lot’.

The current iteration was built with focus groups of gold diggers that were collected around expensive night clubs, and by combing Instagram for the most narcissistic pictures (a daunting task in big data).

The focus group participants were asked if they would like parameters added like ‘interests’, ‘perfect date’, ‘personal traits’, ‘age’, ‘looks’, to which most responded, “No – who cares?”
